There is no such thing as unity without the Gospel. For peace without truth is but the peace of the grave.
Contrary to modern belief, a national Church was never meant to be a 'pluralistic Church', but instead an anchor of truth in the midst of confusion and a prophetic voice to the whole nation. This can happen again if we place the Cross of Christ where it rightly belongs: at the very heart of our Churches.
Following our first conference in Wittenberg, this year at Echoing Wittenberg 2026 we will gather in Katwijk, the Netherlands, a stronghold of Reformed orthodoxy.
Once more, we will invite you to imitate the example of the Reformers: turning back to the beauty of the biblical faith and professing it boldly, out of love. Through a public witness and inspiring speeches, we will encourage one other to contend for the faith once delivered to the saints — within our Churches.
At Crossbearer, we embrace the symbolic mission of carrying the cross of Christ.

Rev. Dan Beesley is a Church of England priest, speaker, and Christian content creator with a passion for helping people think biblically and live faithfully in today’s culture. Alongside parish ministry, Dan has built an online ministry through platforms such as Rev Dan and Fulfilling Life, where he combines pastoral encouragement, theological teaching, and cultural commentary with a heart for discipleship and renewal in the Church.
Having served in parish ministry for over 10 years, Dan is particularly passionate about local church life, authentic Christian community, and equipping ordinary believers to live confidently for Christ in everyday life. His ministry seeks to bridge the gap between historic Christian faith and the challenges facing modern society, encouraging Christians to remain rooted in Scripture while engaging the world with grace and truth.
Whether preaching, teaching, or creating online content, Dan’s aim is to encourage a faithful, hopeful, and Christ-centred witness in an age of confusion, helping Christians remain grounded in biblical truth while living with courage, compassion, and conviction in the modern world.
Jan Arie van den Berg, M.A. (Theology), studied at the University of Utrecht in The Netherlands. In 1997 he was ordained as pastor of a Dutch Reformed church in Pretoria (South-Africa) and was part time teaching Systematic Theology at Mukhanyo Theological College in KwaMhlanga (KwaNdebele). He moved to The Netherlands in 2002 to be pastor of the Dutch Reformed church in Nieuw-Lekkerland.
There was a church fusion in The Netherlands in 2004. With a large part of his church he stayed in the new state church, the Protestant Church in The Netherlands. In 2008 he was called to the Reformed church in IJsselmuiden-Grafhorst. After that he moved to the United States and was from 2013 through 2019 in Grand Rapids (Michigan) pastor of a church of the Reformed Church in America. In those years he was ministering in prisons and to homeless people.
He served on several boards of mission organisations and went a few times to China to teach students and churchleaders about the reformed creeds. At the moment he is pastor of the Reformed church of Sint Anthoniepolder. Jan Arie is married to Brandien Pieters for almost 36 years. They received two daughters and two sons.
Jorge Monsalve is a member of the Evangelical-Lutheran Church of Saxony and serves as the chairman of Kreuzträger e.V (the German-speaking branch of Crossbearer). He was training to become a deacon, but his examination sermon, which contained a call to repentance and faith in the risen Christ, was deemed offensive by his Liberal examiners. He nonetheless remains committed to mobilising the confessing remnant in the European National Churches to be strong and courageous.
Dirk S. Coenen is an ordained elder pastoring a local church in the Protestant Church in the Netherlands, and an MA student at the Protestant Theological University in Utrecht. With a focus on historic Protestant liturgy and sacramentology across traditions, he is on a mission to help the church rediscover the beauty of traditional Protestant worship and doctrine.
Nicolaas Leendert Dijkdrent, M.A. (Theology), studied at the VU Amsterdam and the Protestant Theological University (PThU) in the Netherlands. During his studies, he served as chairman of the theological student society G.T.S.V. 'Voetius' in the period 2017-18 and as part of the faculty student council of the Faculty of Religion and Theology at the VU Amsterdam in the year thereafter. By the 30th of August 2026 he will be ordained as pastor of the Reformed church in Aalst, which is a part of the Protestant Church in the Netherlands. He has a special interest for the field of practical theology, with a focus on reformed liturgy, the contents and backgrounds of the reformed confessional documents, with a focus on the Belgic Confession, and the theologian Dr. H.F. Kohlbrugge.
The event itself is free of charge. We want everyone to be able to go, so there is no charge, other than your transport to Katwijk and your place to stay.

As Christians, we are called to contend for the faith once delivered to the saints, and so we want to imitate the courage of Martin Luther by publishing these 95 theses as a protest against the current grievances.
We kindly ask all members of our Churches who uphold these theses to support our cause and sign this statement. We heartily ask our brothers and sisters in the Church catholic to stand with us, as it is our common faith that is being contradicted. Likewise, we kindly ask anyone who disagrees with us and wishes to point us to a more accurate exposition of the holy Scriptures to engage in dialogue with us.
